This FAQ is not meant to be any kind of comprehensive FAQ for Morrowind, so if you are looking for one that details all aspects of the game, this is probably not it. This rather impromptu FAQ was created to answer the most commonly asked questions that I've seen on various Morrowind forums. I and many others I'm sure are tired of seeing the same questions posted over and over from people who don't use the 'search' function. So hopefully instead of telling them to run a search, they can be pointed here for a definitive answer.
This FAQ may contain game spoilers. If you don't want to see spoiler-type information, try very carefully to read nothing more than you require.

Q: Why am I unable to save the game?
You are trying to save the game while you are still in the Excise Office of Seyda Neen. This is basically the character creation process part of the game, and the game will not allow you to save until you turn in your papers and step outside. When the game tells you that you are now on your own, you should be able to save the game anytime from then onward. There are a few exceptions however, like during conversations with NPCs.
Q: Why am I moving so slowly?
You may be walking instead of running. Check your Controls options to see what key you have to press to toggle run mode (default is Caps Lock). If you are already running and still feel slow, there are a combination of things you can work on to improve your movement speed.
Your Speed attribute is the most important. In most RPG games you may have played, everyone moved at the same rate regardless of their attributes. In Morrowind (and all of the other games in the Elder Scrolls series), your Speed attribute directly affects your movement speed. Other things that also influence your movement speed include your encumbrance level and your Athletics skill (unconfirmed). Someone with 75/450 encumbrance will move faster than someone with 420/450 encumbrance, provided that other factors are the same. So work on getting your Speed up and/or find items that augment your Speed, run wherever you can (running raises Athletics), and don't carry what you don't need.
Q: I'm stuck in a door/wall/rock/[insert object here]. Help!
If you find yourself stuck in something or someone and cannot move even after jumping, sneaking, and moving in every direction; and forgot to save recently so you can't just go back to an old saved game (tsk tsk!) - you'll need to use the console to make the game move you a few paces in a direction that the game deems safe. Sometimes however you will still be stuck after typing the command once, keep trying until you're free. This is what you type in the console:
fixme
Q: How do I delete a spell that I've bought or made?
Shift-click the spell you'd like to delete. A confirmation box will pop up and ask you if you want to delete the spell.
Q: One or more of my inventory windows have disappeared!
You most likely inadvertantly clicked something to toggle the state of one or more of the inventory screen boxes (stats, inventory, spells, and map). To toggle these, right-click to enter your inventory screen. Now click on your health/magicka/fatigue bars, current weapon icon, current spell icon, or minimap to hide or show the larger windows that they correspond to.
Q: How do I take screenshots? How do I see my framerate?
Browse to the folder where you installed Morrowind and open the Morrowind.ini file. Look for the line that reads Screen Shot Enable=0 and change the 0 to 1. You can also turn on the in-game framerate counter by editing the Show FPS=0 line in the same manner. Save the file, exit, and launch the game. While in game you should now be able to capture a screenshot by pressing the PrintScrn key. The number in the lower right corner of the screen is your current framerate. Screenshots are saved by default in your Morrowind directory in bitmap (.bmp) format.
Q: I'm not liking the Birthsign I chose during character creation. Is there some way I can change it now?
It's possible via a console command, however doing so has other side effects resetting your level and wiping your spellbook to what it was like when you first created your character. Here's what you type into the console to bring up the Birthsign menu:
enablebirthmenu
To get your character back to the level he or she was before, use this console command and replace X with the level that your character was:
player->setlevel X
Q: Which of the three Great Houses is the best to join?
There isn't really any one Great House that's better than the other two. You should join whichever one sounds best for you and/or fits your character best.
Q: What are the differences between the three Great Houses?
The most basic description would make House Hlaalu the 'thieves' house, House Reordan the 'fighters' house, and House Telvanni the 'mages' house. It is of course, much more complicated than that. Speak to as many people as you can in game, pay attention to what NPCs of a particular faction do and what they're partial to, and asking Great House members about things like 'rules' and 'killing and murder' are a good way to learn more about them. You can find some more-detailed and spoiler-like information about the Great Houses and other factions by following these links:
http://www.morrowindchronicles.com/library_factionsguilds.htm
http://www.euro-morrowind.com/?section=guilds
Q: Can I belong to more than one Great House? How do I leave a Great House to join another?
If you choose to join a Great House, the NPC you speak to will clearly state that it will be an irreversible decision and will ask you again if you are certain you want to join that particular Great House. However sometimes after being in a Great House and moving up in rank, you may find that it wasn't what it appeared to be initially. Unfortunately like the NPC who offered you membership mentioned, there is no way to officially leave a Great House and join another, as you have already pledged your loyalty to one and none of the others will accept you. You can however, force yourself to join another Great House by typing this in the console (you would replace Faction_Name with the name of the house you want to join):
PCJoinFaction "Faction_Name"
Q: I've heard people talking about 'their' stronghold. How do I get my own?
A stronghold is built for you when you've progressed high enough through the ranks of a Great House. There are other requirements you must meet and tasks you must complete to have one constructed, but the main requirement is that you are a high ranking member of one of the three Great Houses.
Q: I'm trying to advance to rank Magister in House Telvanni, but I'm told I have foresworn to the rank of Master. What's going on?
This seems to be a bug that has affected a fair share of people. What happens is that it is possible to go from the Wizard to Master rank after finishing the necessary tasks. However at this point you are not told that if you choose to advance to the rank of Master, you give up the ability to advance to the rank of Magister. To make sure this doesn't happen, you need to complete all of the requirements for the rank of Magister before you ask about advancement.
If you've found yourself stuck in this predicament but still want to advance to rank Magister, you can use the console to lower your rank back to Wizard. Then speak to Aryon to activate the text to become Magister. To lower your rank, type this into the console:
player->PCLowerRank "Telvanni"
Q: Sharn Gra-Muzgob/Ahnassi/[insert NPC here] has disappeared from my game!
Some NPCs that are a part of quests have a nasty habit of disappearing when you need them most. This appears to be a game bug that affects quite a few people, and the only remedy is to summon said NPC via the console. Here is the syntax for doing so:
placeatpc "sharn gra-muzgob",1,1,1
You would replace sharn gra-muzgob with the name of the NPC you want to place in the game world. This will place the NPC almost right where you are standing, so if you want to maintain the integrity of the game world and keep it as original as possible, use the console command when you're standing where the NPC would normally be standing.
Note that this actually places a new copy of the NPC into the game world. If you have reason to believe that the NPC is still alive and simply stuck somewhere, you can try the reset actor console command which will move all actors in your current cell to their original locations. Type this into the console:
ra
Q: Larrius Varro wants me to get rid of some 'bad people'. Where are they and how can I do this?
The 'bad people' are five members of the Cammona Tong, the rivals of the Thieves Guild. They can be found in the Balmora Council Club, which is just opposite the silt strider staircase. One will be upstairs and the rest down in the bar area. Note that there are more than five people in this building; use your journal to look up the names of those you need to kill. If you don't have their names, find a Thieves Guild member and ask him or her about 'bad people'. You may have to admire and/or bribe to get them to spill the information you need.
Once you've located the exact people you need to kill, you'll have to decide on how you want to take them out. The best approach is to use persuasion: taunt each of them until they attack you first for the best results. An additional advantage to this method is that you should not incur any bounty, and Varro will give you an 'extra' reward for taking them out quietly.
Q: Where is the Dwemer Puzzle Box that I'm supposed to find?
The Puzzle Box is easy to miss, and is not very far from the beginning of the dungeon. Chances are if you're having a lot of trouble tracking it down, you've gone too far. After you come down the ramp into the first big room where you fight two NPCs, there are a pile/formation of rocks on the left side of the room. Climb those to the middle floor and go through the door on the left. It will be on a shelf in that room.
Q: I see the Puzzle Box, but I am unable to pick it up?
This seems to be a rare bug that has affected some people before. First of all, make sure that you do indeed have the quest for this in your Journal. If you've tried nearly everything and still cannot get it to go to your inventory, you could resort to using the console and add it to your inventory there. This is what you would type into the console:
player->AddItem, "misc_dwrv_ark_cube00", 1
Q: Where is the Bonebiter Bow for the Urshilaku quest?
There should be a part of the burial chamber with a waterfall in the cavern that has a spiral staircase and doors on the way up every so often. Go all the way up and into the Juno Burial Chamber. There should be a named Ancestor Ghost in that chamber. Kill him and you should find it on his remains.
Q: How do I find/enter the Cavern of the Incarnate?
The entrance to the Valley of the Wind is along the northern coast, just east of the daedric ruins Zergonipal. One easy route is as follows: Travel to Vos/Tel Vos and head north to the Ahemmusa camp. Follow the coast in a westerly direction, past the daedric ruins. Once the terrain shifts to ashland territory, keep an eye to your left and you'll see two rock spires flanking a pass/valley. Head south through the pass and around the bend, and the Cavern entrance will be there. The entrance opens only during dawn and dusk. The exact times I have heard are 6 am and 6 pm.
Q: Where is the cavern/dungeon Milk?
Milk can be tricky to find and extremely easy to miss. It's west and very slightly north from Ald'ruhn and is located at the end of a path that goes north and curves northeast. This site may help some as it has maps that may give you a better idea:
http://sjourda.free.fr/morrowind/main.htm
Q: I have a quest from the Morag Tong to assassinate Balyn Omavel by poisoning his food, but I can't figure out how to do this?
You should have been given five poisoned leaves to do the task. Locate the cauldron looking thing in his house - it should be called 'Balyn's Cooking Pot' or the like. You will need to activate it with all five of the leaves in your possession, and that should about do it. I've heard reports that it may not work if you are noticed sneaking into his house. So if you want to be completely sure, make sure you successfully sneak in.
Q: I have a quest from Ajira of the Balmora Mages Guild to put a fake soul gem in the desk upstairs, why isn't it working?
You are probably putting it on the desk, not inside of the desk. Hover your crosshair over the desk and activate it to open it. Place the gem from your inventory into the desk (the window that pops up on the right side). You're basically doing the opposite of what you would do when you loot something off someone's corpse.
Q: I have a quest from the Fighters Guild to get a code book from someone in the Thieves Guild. How come she won't give it to me?
Try bribing, admiring, or some combination thereof to try and raise her disposition towards you. Then try asking her about it again a few times after she likes you more. If that fails to work, you may have to resort to pickpocketing or more forceful means to get it.
Q: I need to find the 'Darts of Judgement' for a Thieves Guild quest. Where are they?
These can be quite easy to miss. They should be sitting on one of the beds in the guard's quarters of the Llethri Manor.
Q: I'm doing the Pilgrim's Path quest and I'm in the Puzzle Canal. I've found the shrine at the center but I can't get through the barrier!
The shrine says to "Breathe the Waters of His Glory". In this case, you need to literally 'breathe the waters', so jump into the water and drown. When your health is completely gone you'll be healed and the barrier will disappear, allowing you to continue.
Q: I need to find some muck for a quest I've received. Where can I get some?
If you are doing the first shrine quest and need muck, there is some close by on a small island just to the south of the Fields of Kummu/Alof's Farmhouse. Look for a plant named Mucksponge. You can also purchase Muck from an alchemist merchant in Sadrith Mora, as well as Balmora, and probably other locations that have NPC merchants that sell alchemy ingredients. An NPC in Gnisis has a Mucksponge garden where you can also find some. Lastly, muck can be found pretty much all over the game world in random crates, barrels, and/or sacks much like any other alchemy ingredient.
Q: A woman near Gnisis wants me to find her ring somewhere in this pool. Where is it?
If you're having trouble finding it, try during noon or so when the sun is directly overhead and things are at their brightest. If you have a spell, ability, or item that can confer the effect of Night Eye on you, that may help also. You can also try dropping a magical ring of your own somewhere where the water is shallow, just so you know what to look for. The ring is somewhat hidden by the plants growing out of the bottom of the pond and can be very easy to miss, so proceed slowly when you're combing the area for it.
Q: Where can I get the Boots of Blinding Speed?
You receive them as the reward to a quest from a female redguard merchant. She can be found along one of the roads from Caldera to Gnaar Mok. There are two paths that cut through the hills to get to Gnaar Mok from Caldera. She is along the path if you go northwest out of Caldera (rather than the west/southwest path that allows you to go to the mines and also to Gnaar Mok). I found her not too far from the NPC with the 4 guars and the little shack, but you may find her in a slightly different location. She'll ask for an escort to Gnaar Mok and will give you the Boots of Blinding Speed in exchange for doing so.
Q: How do I counteract the blind effect from the Boots of Blinding Speed? How come when I equip them I can still see, although things aren't as bright?
If you want to take advantage of what seems to be a bug so you can still see while wearing the Boots of Blinding Speed, you'll need an item that can cast Resist Magicka, or be able to cast the spell yourself. Cast Resist Magicka and then equip the boots. You should still be able to see somewhat (depending on the magnitude of the Resist Magicka effect, the higher the magnitude the more you should be able to see). Now the part that seems to be a bug is that when your Resist Magicka effect wears off, you'll still be able to see as if you had it active. So you should be able to see until you remove the boots. Note that if you want to do this without taking advantage of what some would consider a bug, there is at least one item in the game with a constant effect of Resist Magicka.
If you are confused because the Boots of Blinding Speed don't exactly seem to be making you blind, it is almost certainly because you are a Breton or Orc. The natural Resist Magicka effect of these two races serve the same purpose as I outlined above, effectively negating a portion of the blind effect. Lucky you! Note that if you are a beast race (Khajiit or Argonian), you will be unable to take advantage of the Boots of Blinding Speed as you cannot wear boots.
Q: I killed in the Corprusarium earlier in the game and now I can't talk to Divayth to proceed with the main quest. Help!
The only workaround I've heard of for this situation is through a console command. Try typing this into the console, which should update your journal and allow you to complete the quest:
player -> journal A2_3_corpruskiller 30
I've been informed of a different method that may work. You can attempt to charm him with a spell/item, if you succeed he will seemingly forgive you even though you've killed one or more of the victims. At least a few people have confirmed that this method works, so if you have the means to charm I'd recommend this method before trying the console method.
Q: I killed someone and received the message: 'With this character's death, the thread of prophecy is severed. Restore a saved game to restore the weave of fate or persist in the doomed world you have created.' What does this mean?
This means that the NPC you killed was integral to the main storyline at your point in the game. If you choose to continue and not restore a saved game before you killed the NPC in question, you will not be able to complete the main storyline of the game in the way that it was intended.
Q: Why aren't people attacking me when I've successfully taunted them?
You've probably only successfully taunted them once and wondered why they wouldn't attack you. You generally need four or five taunt successes before you can convince the NPC to attack you. You'll know that it has worked when they automatically end the dialogue session with you and your only option is to click the 'Goodbye' text.
Q: Why are one or more of my attributes lower than usual and in red?
You either have a common disease or blight disease that are affecting your attributes negatively. You may have also run across a Greater Bonewalker or another creature/NPC that is capable of draining your attributes. In the former case, a potion, scroll, or spell of cure normal or blight disease should do the trick. If your attribute(s) have been drained and you do not have a disease, then you will need to use a potion or spell of restore attribute for whichever attribute you've lost. In either case, finding a shrine in a dungeon, visiting an Imperial altar, or visiting a Tribunal Temple can also cure you of disease or restore attributes with a small donation.
It's always helpful to carry an item or a few potions that can cast Restore Strength on yourself, since when your Strength is drained you may find yourself over-encumbered and unable to move. It's also generally a good idea to carry scrolls of Almsivi and Divine Intervention or an item that can cast them to get yourself to the nearest Imperial or Tribunal Temple.
Q: Why are my armor skills lower than usual and in red?
If you find that all of your armor skills (heavy, medium, light, and unarmored) have decreased by 20 or a multiple of 20, you have most likely equipped/re-equipped the sword Fury at some point. There is currently a bug with the weapon where if you unequip it, your armor skills will not return to normal. Un-equipping and re-equipping Fury a couple times may result in all of your armor skills at zero. My advice? Keep this out of your inventory unless absolutely needed so you never find yourself accidentally equipping it.
There is information in this thread on the Elder Scrolls forums with a link to a player-made plugin that will restore your drained armor skills:
http://www.elderscrolls.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=cheat&Number=438122
Q: I've done what you said to restore my attributes. But they are only restored to their base value, not the fortified value.
If you restore an attribute that's being fortified by something like a constant effect enchantment on an item, there is a bug that will cause the restore attribute effect to only restore up to your base amount in that attribute (base value being before any fortify spells/effects). To remedy this, you have to remove all items and/or wait for all effects to wear off that fortify attributes before casting a restore attribute spell.
Example: Your strength has a base value of 72. With an item that has a constant effect of Fortify Strength 20pt it becomes 92. Your strength is then drained to 30. You restore your strength but find that it has returned to 72 instead of the 92 it should be. If you take off the constant effect item at this point, your strength will drop 20 points to 52. Cast a restore strength spell again and reequip the item, and it should return to 92.
Q: What's the difference between Invisibility and Chameleon?
Invisibility makes you completely invisible for the duration of the spell effect. However as soon as you do anything (talk, attack, pick something up, activate an item like a door, etc), the effect is negated.
Chameleon blends you into your surroundings, effectively making you invisible. However chameleon has a percentage of effectiveness (i.e. if you have a spell that confers 50% chameleon on casting, then you're effectively only 50% invisible). The upside is that you can do things during the duration of the effect and chameleon won't negate.
Q: What's the difference between a 1 or 100pt magnitude Levitate?
A higher magnitude with the Levitate effect makes you move faster while levitating. Generally though increasing the magnitude with levitate makes the spell (or effect if it's on an item) near impossible to cast or makes it take up so many enchantment points that it isn't possible to create. If you need to move really fast in the air, a better solution is to pair levitate (of any magnitude, preferably with a Constant Effect item) with the Boots of Blinding Speed.
Q: Where can I find a merchant that has enough money to buy my high-value items?
There really isn't any merchant that can afford the extremely high valued items that you may come across in the game. However your best bet is a scamp named Creeper that lives on the second floor of the Ghorak Manor in the town of Caldera. He has 5000 gold and will buy and sell items at full value. One method that people use with Creeper is to buy and sell him items until he has something or multiple things that add up to near the value of your high valued item. You can then trade your high valued item in for many lesser ones, and over the course of many game days you can sell the lesser items back for money. This works because of the fact that merchants will reload their base amount of gold every 24 hours, and Creeper will buy/sell at full value so you effectively won't be losing any money in the bartering process.
Q: Where can I find the master/secret trainers?
Most NPC trainers you encounter only train your skills to a certain point, after which they then tell you they can do nothing more for someone of your skill. There are however NPCs that will train your skills all the way up to 100. There is one NPC for just about every skill in the game, and they are scattered around the island of Vvardenfell. Follow this link to a thread from The Elder Scrolls Forums which lists all of these 'master' trainers:
http://www.elderscrolls.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=cheat&Number=388793
Q: Why can't I regenerate magicka? Why doesn't my magicka heal when I rest?
First check to make sure that your Intelligence attribute hasn't been drained all the way to zero from a disease, spell effect, or from a creature/NPC that can drain attributes. If that isn't the case, you've probably chosen the Atronach birthsign during character creation which yields you an additional 2.0x your Intelligence in magicka, a 50pt natural Spell Absorption ability, and something called Stunted Magicka. The Stunted Magicka drawback is what keeps you from regenerating magicka naturally. Your only options are to carry/drink lots of restore magicka potions, or absorb the spells of enemies to regain magicka.
One workaround that has become popular among people who pick the Atronach as their birthsign is to create an item that summons an Ancestral Ghost, or summon one yourself (although the enchanted item is more useful, for those cases where you completely run out of magicka). Whenever you find yourself low on magicka and in need of a refill, simply summon your Ancestral Ghost and swing at it a few times to get it to attack you. If you absorb a few of its fire spells, you should be recharged and ready to go again.
Q: My health and fatigue increase when I level, but why doesn't my magicka?
The amount of maximum magicka you have is determined solely by your Intelligence attribute. The only way to increase your magicka pool after character creation is to increase your Intelligence. This is why it can be important to choose a race and/or birthsign that gives a multiplier bonus to your Intelligence for calculating your magicka if you plan on using lots of powerful/high-cost spells in your character's career.
Q: Why is my Indoril or Dreugh armor changing from medium to heavy or vice-versa?
These two armor types are supposed to be medium armor and are listed in the Construction Set and I think the strategy guide (can somebody confirm?) as such. However for some people Indoril and/or Dreugh begin as heavy armor in the game. There is a bug within the game that will sometimes cause these two armor types to change from medium to heavy or vice-versa. I've heard reports that quitting out of the game and restarting it made the armor revert back to what it started as originally in the game. I've personally had success using that method, but it may not work for everyone.
Q: I've been using sneak as much as I can but it isn't increasing, why?
Most skills go up when they're successfully used (i.e. long blade - you must successfully hit something, block - you have to successfully block an attack, etc). However with sneak you not only have to successfully use it, but you must be using it in the vicinity of an NPC/creature so that the game checks to see whether they notice you or not.
One of the easiest ways is to find a shop or room with a single NPC in it. Have them face away from you so that you see their back, move as far away from them as possible, and sneak. It may seem to not work at first, but if you notice your sneak icon appearing and disappearing randomly, the game is doing its calcluations to determine whether or not the NPC notices you.
Q: I'm tired of carrying all this stuff around, where can I store my non-essential items?
Anything you place into the game world should be remembered by the game, the problem is finding somewhere that's safe to store your items. The problem is that certain places and containers may be marked to respawn after a certain amount of time. Generally it's safest and most convenient to leave items on the ground in an easily accessable and/or well traveled place. It can be risky to leave items in containers or dungeons as they may go through a respawn cycle and zap all of your items. Another risk of using containers for storage is a problem of ownership. If you place your items into a container that the game considers belonging to someone else, when you go to remove items from it, you may be accused of stealing if someone notices you.

Check out the separate Alchemy FAQ.
Q: How do I enchant something? Where are the spells that use the Enchant skill?
There are no spells that use the Enchant skill. The Enchant skill works differently than the other schools of magic and is used when you attempt to create or recharge an enchanted item. You can create or recharge an enchanted item by clicking on a soul gem that you've trapped something inside of and dropping it over your character portrait, like you would equip an item.
Q: What are soul gems? How do I soul trap something?
Soul gems are used to hold the souls of creatures to be used in the enchantment of items. The more powerful the creature, the larger the soul gem that is required to hold it. When enchanting, the more powerful the creature in the soul gem being used is, the more charges the item being enchanted will have when you create it.
To soul trap something, you need the Soul Trap spell or a scroll/item that has the same effect. Cast the spell on the creature that you wish to soul trap. If cast successfully upon the creature, it will have a purple mist/swirl particle effect around them for the duration of the spell. If you kill it within the duration of your soul trap, it will automatically be put into the smallest soul gem in your possession that is capable of holding it. It may take a little experimenting to find out what creatures fit into which sized soul gems.
Q: Why am I unable to soul trap NPCs?
NPCs and some humanoid-derived creatures cannot be soul trapped. There are also a handful of creatures in the game that cannot be soul trapped, some of which are various dwemer robots.
Q: Why can't I create/enchant a constant effect item?
You need a grand soul gem valued at 80000 or more. This means you'll need a Golden Saint or Ascended Sleeper captured in a grand soul gem to be able to have the option of creating a Constant Effect item in the enchantment screen.
Q: Where can I buy the spells Mark and Recall?
A merchant in the basement of the Tribunal Temple in Balmora sells them. They can also be found from a merchant in the Mages Guild of Vivec. Also if you plan on joining House Telvanni, one of the Mouths will reward you by teaching you both spells after you've done a quest for them.
Q: Where can I buy the spell Restore [insert Attribute here]?
Folvys Andalor at the Ald-ruhn Temple sells all of them. He is on the upper floor of the Temple. Also be aware that once you have any Restore Attribute spell, you can use the Spellmaker services from an NPC to create any other Restore Attribute spell. So for example if you already have the Restore Endurance spell, you can make Restore Strength, Intelligence, Willpower, etc.
Q: Where can I buy the high-end summon spells?
Felen Maryon has the spells Summon Daedroth, Dremora, Golden Saint, Hunger, and Winged Twilight. He is in Tel Branora, Upper Tower: Therana's Chamber.
In Sadrith Mora, Urtiso Faryon: Sorcerer has the spells Summon Clannfear, Flame Atronach, Frost Atronach, and Storm Atronach. Her shop is south of the Morag Tong Guild.
Q: I've looked all over for the Bound Greaves and Bound Pauldron spells, where are they?
These two spells don't seem to exist in the game in any form for some odd reason. They don't even seem to be listed in the Construction Set as a magical effect, so you can't create the spells yourself either. Basically you're out of luck in this case.
Q: How do I become a Vampire?
You become a vampire if you fight a vampire and contract the vampirisim disease (called Polyphoric Hemophilia) and do not take actions to cure it within three days. It is treatable as a common disease. You have a small chance of contracting the disease everytime a vampire hits you, either from punches or a weapon. Spells that are cast upon you by a vampire do not have a chance of transmitting the disease. Note that if you have a resistance or immunity to common diseases (as some races naturally have), it may make it very hard or even impossible for you to contract Polyphoric Hemophilia. In these cases, you may want to find a spell, scroll, or potion that will lower your resistance to common disease.
Q: So now I'm a Vampire, but I'm really not liking it anymore. Can I reverse the process?
Yes, there is indeed a way to revert back to being 'normal'. If you locate a copy of the book 'Vampires of Vvardenfell Vol. II', it contains information on what to do to rid yourself of the vampirisim curse. Note that once you've reversed the process and return yourself to normal, you will then effectively be immune to their disease, and thus will not be able to become a vampire a second time.
If you're looking for a more specific answer, read on. You need to find the daedric ruins of Bal Ur, located just north of Suran. Inside there you should find a person by the name of Derar Hlervu (spelling may not be exact), and he will instruct you to speak with the statue. You'll be given a quest that involves killing people in a mine called Dubdilla. After that is complete you should be able to return and speak with the statue again to have your curse removed.
Q: Where can I find the various Vampire clans?
Follow this link to a thread from The Elder Scrolls Forums, which details where you can find each of the vampire clan hideouts:

Q: I've become a Vampire now but I don't like the clan I'm part of. Can I become part of another?
There's no way to do so that I'm aware of, short of using the console. This is much like joining/leaving another Great House, and you will still technically belong to your original clan. The most you'll be able to do is get yourself expelled. These are the console commands, depending on which clan you want to join:
pcjoinfaction "Clan Aundae"
pcjoinfaction "Clan Quarra"
pcjoinfaction "Clan Berne"
Q: Where can I find Glass armor?
If you don't mind stealing, you can find a full set minus greaves in a tower in Ghostgate.
Most of the set can also be found at the Volrina Quarra Lair (vampire hideout) located in the dwemer ruins southwest of the Urshilaku camp. You will have to kill Volrina herself to obtain it.
On the lower level of the Fighter's Guild of Ald'ruhn, there is a set of glass armor minus bracers and pauldrons inside a chest behind a locked door of 80 or so difficulty.
Q: Where can I find Ebony armor?
You can obtain an Ebony helm by killing and looting a Hunger in the Sarano Ancestral Tomb. Sarano is just north along a short path from the Fields of Kummu and Alof's Farmhouse. I believe this is part of a Fighters Guild quest.
If you don't mind stealing, there is an Ebony cuirass on a shelf in the Dren Plantation. It's in the very same room as Orvas Dren, right behind him. Be careful not to get caught, as he and his lackeys can be tough for a lower level character.
Some can be found at the Volrina Quarra Lair (vampire hideout) located in the dwemer ruins southwest of the Urshilaku camp. A vampire there has a full set except for the helm.
Q: Where can I find Daedric armor?
If you don't mind stealing, there is a set of Daedric greaves on a shelf in the Dren Plantation. It's in the very same room as Orvas Dren, right behind him. Be careful not to get caught, as he and his lackeys can be tough for a lower level character.
A list of daedric armor locations was complied in a thread on the Elder Scrolls forums which may also be of some help:

Q: I need a better bow. Where can I find a Daedric Longbow?
A Daedric Longbow can be found in some daedric ruins west of Maar Gan. The upper part of these ruins has an entrance to the 'Forgotten Galleries'. Going through the top entrance, there should be a ledge across from you, and another above that with some pillars. Behind one of the pillars above is a skeleton which has the longbow, some arrows, and a number of other goodies.
Q: Where is the Robe of St Roris?
The robe can be found in a dungeon called Assemanu located on one of the smaller islands to the southeast of Seyda Neen (not the bigger island with the canoe and the wooden bridge, but one of the smaller ones nearby). You'll most likely need a high acrobatics skill, some sort of jump type spell, or a levitate spell to be able to get to the chest that has the robe. The chest that contains the robe is locked with a 70ish difficulty lock, so you'll need some way to be able to overcome that as well. There are also two keys in the dungeon, I'm not sure which one is for what door, but you can potentially lock yourself in if you don't obtain the key(s). However if you can use Divine or Almsivi Intervention from a spell/scroll/item, or recall yourself to a different location it won't be a problem.
The robe itself is in the deeper section of the dungeon, in a room/area just past the six bells, where you fight an Ascended Sleeper. Look up and there should be a path/ledge above you that's wide enough to walk along. The robe is in the chest that's sitting on it.
Note for the Xbox version of the game: This robe has been changed to a 'cast when used' item with 25 charges.
Q: Where can I get the 'Bluebrand' katana?
The Bluebrand seems to be more of an easter-egg than anything else, but can still be acquired legitimately in the game (i.e. without usage of the console or editor) by following a number of steps. It will require you to have already obtained the Goldbrand, and you will also have to be a vampire to get the quest. Take a look at the thread below from the Elder Scrolls Forums for the full details:
http://www.elderscrolls.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=cheat&Number=463038

Q: Where are all of the Propylon Indices?
The various Propylon Chambers you may run into during your travels require the appropriate Propylon Index to activate. This thread from the Elder Scrolls Forums will provide you with their locations so you can track them down:
